Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat
When you arrive, we will meet and pick you up from the airport in Casablanca and drive you to Rabat. On this Morocco Expert Tours Casablanca, we will take you around to visit the second largest mosque after Mecca, the Hassan II. Part of which is built on the seaside.Then, we will head off driving to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, to stay for one night in a riad well positioned in the heart of the medina in Rabat
Day 2: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes
Immediately After breakfast in the riad, we will make our way to Fes via Meknes and Volubilis. In Meknes, another significant imperial city in Morocco, known as the Ismaili capital of Morocco. It is built by Moulay Ismail. You will see many historical sites such as; the famous gate Bab Mansour, the Sahrij Souani Bassin, and the Mulay Ismail tomb. After lunch we continue our Morocco Expert Tours Casablanca, there will be some time for the Roman archeological site of Volubilis. You will take advantage to see the wonderfully preserved original mosaics, Roman road, and city layout. Afterwards we travel cross Moroccan countryside and pass by the Holy City of Moulay Idriss for a photo opportunity. At the end of the afternon You’ll get to Fes and check in your riad in the heart of the medina . (BB).
Day 3: Full day exploring Fes
After breakfast, in licensed tour guide from the office of tourism will be waiting for you. Explore the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleyways and small narrow streets. First starting by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarters. It is the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century. We will ensure that you have made a full cutural visit around the town including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region, the Tanneries, the Attarine museum and Mulay Idriss mausoleum.
In addition to all this, there will be a short visit to the famous ceramic factory. Then you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fes. In the afternoon we will visit the new city for a drink. Then overnight accommodation at your riad as above. (BB).
Day 4: Fes – Azrou – Midlet – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Immediately After breafast, we leave Fes making our way to middle atlas, crossing Imozar, the first berber town and Ifran. A beautiful mountain village, so called as “the Switzerland of Morocco” and then on to Midelt. Along the way of this Morocco Expert Tours Casablanca, you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest. In fact the largest in Morocco – where you will see Brbary apes. After a while in the forest, we carry on our journey to Midelt along the magnificent hills and the Atlas mountains. Then off to Merzouga via Errachidia and Erfoud. You will be enjoying a wonderful journey through the fascinating Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge. You will see beautiful scenery views of the High Atlas plateau. You’ll enjoy along the way, how the scenery is changing to notice the first elements of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia. There you will have experienced the Berber hospitality while having a lunch. Then, we will drive along the green pearl of Ziz Valley where you will stop for panoramic views along the way to Erfoud and Rissani. We will reach Merzouga in the afternoon. You’ll be greeted and welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you start your camel treck to spend an overnight at the desert camp with Berber music and sand boarding.
Day 5: Merzouga area and the Camel trek
We will start an explorative journey of the whole area immediately after breakfast . We’ll visit the Twargue or blue men people – originally slaves brought from Sub sahaharian countries mainly from Sudan -to experience their music. You may also visit the souk in Rissani where local farmers and comerchants sell out their traditional commodities. A traditional town which the orgin of the ruling family in Morocco. They came from and the meeting place of the Caravans trading as far as Timbuctou in Mali. Here you will see a true life style of the blue people where a lot of men hooded and women veiled. Back to the village of Merzouga for some rest. In the afternoon you will ride your camel accompanied by an experienced camel man to explore the sand-sea of Merzouga. You will be spending overnight at our desert camp, where you will have a dinner there and enjoy the music with the sons of the nomads.
Day 6: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges (260km)
In the very morning your camel man will wake you up to watch the best view of sunrise of your life. After breakfast at the berber camp you will camel trek back to the village of Merzouga. In the way , you will be fascinating with the unique beauty of the golden Erg Chebbi sand dunes – changing its color with the light as the day is rising. After breakfast in your riad, you’ll take a way further southern west to Rissani , Tinghir, and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge we’ll continue our Morocco Expert Tours Casablanca, through the Dades Valley. You’ll see the majestic sand casbahs and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. So by the end of the afternoon you will end up spending overnight in a hotel in Dades
Day 7: Dades Valley – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Tizi n’Tichka Pass – Marrakech
As soon as you take your breakfast in the hotel we’ll drive off crossing the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazat. Along the route through Dades Valley. This way of the thousand Kasbahs will provide you with multi opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip. We’ll stop at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose town”. There we will purchase rosewater, which will make our ride sprays with a good smell a long way over. Continue our Morocco Expert Tours Casablanca, to Marrakech via the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Built by Et Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains during the 18th century. Now the Kasbah is a house of many Glaoui people. Your journey will continue through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains. Before arriving at your accommodation in Marrakech.
Day 8: Exploring Marrakech
After having breakfast in the riad, you will start exploring the medina of Marrakech for a half touring day “the Red City of Morocco”. In company with an official local tour guide with whom you see all the sites with historical and cultural interest. Including the Koutoubia Minaret; the Saadian tombs; the beautiful Palace of Bahia and the Ben Youssef Coranic School. Also he will be walking you through the medina alleys. Hence getting a chance to admire all of the different artisans performing their crafts before arriving at the famous Jamaa El Fna Square. Lunch will be at a restaurant near the square. Then, in the afternoon you visit the gardens at Majorelle, and have a short tour at Gueliz. The new city of Marrakech. After dinner you will have the option either to walk through the square entertained by magicians, story-tellers, tooth-pullers and food sellers. Or to have an unforgettable funny atmosphere in a night club. Overnight accommodation will be in your riad as above. (BB).
Day 9: Day trip to Essaouira
After taking breakfast in your riad , you will start travelling to the coastal city of Essaouira. Getting there it takes about 2 and a half hour for a drive to start exploring the city. You’ll visit the Skala Fortress; see Thuya wood carved by artisans; walk through the alleys of the medina and view hundreds of handicrafts. This “City of the Wind” attracts surfers from all over the world. Essaouira knew many civilisations – including the Portuguese occupation. Hence it affects much of its architecture. However, it remains a small village with much history. Because of its size and its characteristic, blue doors and washed walls, it is also regarded as Morocco’s “Jewel of the Atlantic”. So on this Morocco Expert Tours Casablanca, you will also visit the women’s co-operative of Argan oil. Here they extract the oil that is famous for its culinary, cosmetic and medicinal properties. Lunch will be done in the Moroccan way – fresh fish “cooked in order” at the fish market. In the afternoon you will travel back to Marrakech. Finally overnight at riad Ksar Anika. (BB).
Day 10: Marrakech – Casablanca Airport
After an early breakfast in the riad, we will drive you to Casablanca/Marrakech airport for your flight back home.
