Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Dades Valley
We will pick you either from the hotel or directly from the airport depends on your choice. Then on this Best Sahara Tours Marrakech, we will head off for the Dades Gorges, passing through Tizi-n-Tishka in the high Atlas Mountains. Afterwards, we will visit Ait Ben Haddou, spending time in the UNESCO heritage where many international films have been shooted. Such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Alexander. After lunch, we’ll set off enjoying the beautiful natural landscapes and historical monuments of Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate. Plus Skoura and the Valley of the Roses where the Festival of Roses takes place annually in the beginning of May. We’ll also pass through the Berber villages of El Kelaa des M’Gouna and Boumalene du Dades where our journey will spending the night there.
Day 2: Dades Valley- Merzouga via Todra Gorge
Today’s destination is driving to Merzouga, it has the highest sand dunes. The desert so-called Erg Chebbi Sahara desert which its surface is stretched out 20 km long and 5 km wide. It is a unique multifaceted scenic nature combined with the magic of golden colored sands and an infinite number of different sizes of dunes. On the way, we will have the chance to see many oases such as the oasis of Tinjdad. We will continue our exploration crossing through the little Berber towns of Mellab and Touroug. When we Arrive at Rissani we will have lunch. After this break, we continue our way enjoying the green oasis of palm trees of Ziz –Tafilalet and the black Hamada before arriving at Merzouga.We will have some time for bathing in the natural warm spa as well as having a local dinner and listen to Berber music. Day 3: Merzouga area, culture, and tradition
After breakfast, we will take the way around the dunes via the oasis of Merzouga. The nomadic depository, Khamlia village (Blacks’ village) you’ll visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan. You will experience their music and lifestyle. We’ll leave for Rissani, once called Sijilmassa. It was an important commercial post where the salt caravans met, coming from Timbuktu in Mali. Here you’ll walk through the souk, selling spices, vegetables, and clothes. You will also notice some features of the Berber lifestyle where a lot hooked and veiled men come for shopping or selling their local products. After a Berber pizza in Rissani, we will back to your riad. Your camel will be at your disposal for the desert journey, after some mint tea. All unnecessary luggage will be dropped in safe rooms at the hotel. The 90 minutes camel journey will take us to a Berber camp in the heart of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, the highest in North Africa. The camp set of several comfortable Berber tents equipped with western furniture and the tools of relax. The evening will consist of dinner followed by entertainment provided by Berber drums.
Day 4: Merzouga – Ouarzazate
In the very morning and just before sunrise, you will get up to climb the sand dunes for fantastic photo opportunities. We will then make our way back to the hotel for breakfast before we continue our journey of Best Sahara Tours Marrakech, to Ouarzazate. Passing through Alnif, Tazzarine, Nkob and the Draa Valley. We will spend the night in a guest house in Ouarzazate.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Immediately after breakfast, we will drive off for Marrakech, passing through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains. Our journey will continue through the majestic Tizi ‘n’ Tichka Pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, before arriving at your accommodation in Marrakech, where the tour ends but the memories last.
